Interview: Blacklisters

Our favourite noise rockers, Blacklisters, were kind enough to answer some important questions about themselves ahead of their appearance on our stage at Beacons Festival.

- What is your name and what do you do?

"Billy, sing like a lark on a dewy morning"

- How would you describe your band to someone aged 8 years old, with reference to artists a person of this age would be familiar with?

"Tinky winky, Dipsy, La La and Po kick Pepper Pig in her nunu till she go 'wawa' "

- And the same for someone age 64:

"You know Bing Crosby? Yeah, exactly like that. You’d love it"

- Your recent single 'Trick Fuck' garnered a lot of attention and has a great video to go alongside it. How do you feel about YouTube listener comments such as:
"Its everything we have worked for for all these years. Personally, I am just happy to be here, but to be considered as better than a band like Linkin Park after all of their great songs, and work in Nu Metal, is unbelievable - I’m on cloud nine"

- What can we expect from your performance at Beacons?

"A gift that will keep on giving"

- What artists are you looking forward to seeing at Beacons?

"That Fucking Tank, Hawk Eyes, Post War Glamour Girls, Toots And The Maytals, Spirit Of John, Black Eyed Peas, The Fratelli’s, The Carpenters, Paramore, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Abba"

- Anything else you would like to talk about?

"I went to the zoo the other day it was really nice."

 - Thanks Bill.

Blacklisters debut LP 'BLKLSTRS' is out now via Brew Records and is available to buy on CD/12" here.

They will be playing our Vice / Noisey stage, on Sunday 19th August at 8PM.
